Resumo

The present study aimed to present the importance of encouraging reading inside the prison in a penitentiary in Parintins – AM, making a bibliographic survey on this subject, as well as the application of a questionnaire, in the same way, it was also possible to observe some of the reading incentive projects that were applied inside the prison and how the process of remission sentences and resocialization of prisoners works through reading. For the foundation and theoretical -methodological contribution, the study is supported by authors such as: Freire (2006-1982), Mirabete (2002-2012), Morin (2010), among other authors who corroborate the theme, and thus enter into the theme, with greater autonomy considering previous research conducted. The methodology used to obtain data-was bibliographic and qualitative in nature. I hope that my analyses and results can contribute to the understanding of such an important social theme, considering that education is the evolution of the world and that the more one invests in education, the more the world evolves, human beings are enriched with knowledge.
