Resumo
Brazil, in its primary exporting cycle, developed a transport system totally
focused on the flow of products from the producing poles to the coast, where they
would later be sent to their respective demanding countries, the 1929 crisis
generating a sudden drop in the prices of exported products forced the
industrialization process, strongly influenced by the development of highways,
supported by the creation of the automobile and petrochemical sector, neglecting
the development of other modes, concentrating economic power in certain
regions of the country. In comparison, Germany before the unification of its states
created a transport system linking the wealthiest regions of the country together
with the development of an efficient and competitive industry making it one of the
most important on the European continent. In this way, the Brazilian logistics
system is being scrapped, unable to take advantage of the multimodality provided
by its geographical characteristics, harming numerous sectors of society. The
root of Brazilian logistical bottlenecks are directly related to the absence of long term development plans, diversification of the transport matrix and sudden drops
in the percentages of investment in infrastructure over the years, which directly
differs from the German profile, influenced by efficient public policies. and the
notion of spatial complementarity.
