Resumo
The current reality in which we live has demanded that most governments opt for social isolation measures to reduce the contamination caused by COVID-19. Among the main institutions that follow this measure, we have the educational ones, where activities are now carried out remotely. This work aims to analyze the difficulties and how the overcoming of a visually impaired student occurs in mathematics classes in a state public school. The student was initially in the 1st year of high school and finishing when he was in the 2nd year, during the period of the pandemic. The research methodology has a qualitative approach whose data collection instrument was the questionnaire answered by audio by teachers and students with visual impairments. 03 questionnaires were applied, 01 to the teacher, another to the assistant teacher and another to the student, made available by Whatsapp through audio. Although we did not get a response from the teacher in charge, the assistant teacher confirmed the situation of lack of structure and adequate training to meet the needs of visually dependent students, which requires differentiated attention from government officials. It was observed that in order to carry out the activities it was necessary for students to have equipment such as computers, smartphones, tablets, as well as access to the internet, which are expensive goods and many Brazilians may end up being excluded from the educational process because they do not have the financial conditions to buy them.
