Uma análise das vantagens comparativas das exportações do estado do Amazonas com o Brasil, no período de 2000 a 2018

Abstract

The article analyzes the comparative advantages of exports from the state of Amazonas with Brazil in the period 2000-2018. For this, we used the Revealed Comparative Advantage Index (IVCR) as an analytical tool to identify and compare the evolution of competitiveness of Amazonas exports with Brazilian exports according to the Mercosur Common Nomenclature (NCM) sections. The results indicated a great dependence of Amazonian exports on the exports of the Manaus Industrial Pole (PIM), which including characterize the most competitive sections of the Amazonas; comparative disadvantages mainly in the non-PIM sections compared to Brazil ; signs of competitive increases in some sections, such as the Wood group, which stood out for being the only one of these groups to present rising IVCR; The plant products group increased its share of the export basket and leveraged the number of products exported with revealed comparative advantages. In general, the results showed competitiveness gain in most of the analyzed products and increase in the number of competitive products in the state exportation basket.
