Resumo

The development of teaching and learning mathematics must be creative and dynamic, as interacting two trends in mathematical research can contribute to student learning. Since the present work aimed to verify the contribution of mathematical research through the GeoGebra software in the Sierpinski triangle in a 9th grade class in elementary school. Using a questionnaire, field notebook and photography as instruments for data collection. The study was analyzed by descriptive analysis. Through the development of this research to explore the Sierpinski triangle through GeoGebra, it was found that it helps students to build and improve their learning, as the groups developed some mathematical relationships including, subtraction, multiplication, rooting and potentiation. Therefore, an exploration of investigative tasks through this technological tool can enable students to learn autonomously.
