Resumo
This work presents the path taken by children's literature from its emergence to its use in the classroom as a source of knowledge and information for children and adolescents who are inserted in the world of reading. Its objective is to verify how the use of children's literature occurs in the 7th year of elementary school in a public school in Parintins. The methodology of this research is composed of bibliographical and exploratory research with a qualitative approach, the method of approach chosen was the dialectical one and a field research was carried out. The main theorists who supported this research are Cadermatori (2010) Coelho (2000) Lajolo and Zilberman (2007) Solé (1998) Zylberman (2005, 2012, 2012). Therefore, this work presents results of how children's literature is used in the reading promotion of children and adolescents in an elementary school in Parintins/AM.
