Planejamento da arborização urbana em Nhamundá: análise dos desafios e proposição de estratégias sustentáveis.

Abstract

This study analyzes the current state of urban tree planting in the Municipality of Nhamundá (AM), identifying its weaknesses, potential, and socio-environmental impacts. The research, structured in a qualitative-quantitative approach, involved a literature review, direct observation, and the application of digital questionnaires to city residents. The results demonstrate that, although the population recognizes the importance of trees for public health, quality of life, and thermal comfort, it is still insufficient and marked by a lack of planning. The analysis also revealed that urban expansion has led to the replacement of vegetation with impermeable, concreted areas, intensifying heat islands and reducing water infiltration into the soil. Based on these findings, the study proposes guidelines for the implementation of a Municipal Urban Tree Planting Plan, including the use of geotechnologies, environmental education programs, and community participation strategies. It is concluded that tree planting is a fundamental element for the environmental balance of the city and that its planned expansion can promote significant improvements in the well-being of the population.
