Valoração econômica: aplicação do método do custo de viagem ao Museu da Amazônia (MUSA)

Abstract

The travel cost method is aeconomic value form that estimates monetary value for an environmental asset through visitor spending on travel and consumption on the asset. This type of study is important to justify environmental preservation and investment in public leisure in contact with nature. The aim of this study is to economically value Musa, part of the AdolphoDucke Forest Reserve for public visitation.The valuation result shows that the behavior of Musa visitors does not follow the model hypothesis, as there is a positive relationship between visit rates and the travel cost. The estimated value for Musa's annual recreational use is R$ 5,610,891.
