This work aimed to develop a low-cost system for impedance measurement, using the
method of Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIE) to assist in the analysis of chemical
quantifiers, corrosion systems and other areas of electrochemistry. This system consists of on board software and hardware components, which perform the impedance measurement through
microcontrolled platforms, microprocessor, data acquisition system and impedance converter
(AD5933), employing concepts of digital signal processing, filtering methods and signal
manipulation through analog circuits. Tests were performed with chemical and electronic
impedance samples. The results obtained for resistive and capacitive electronic circuits were
compared with the theoretical calculations; for chemical impedance the behavior of the curve
generated by both the proposed device and the commercial Sensit Smart equipment was
evaluated. As a result, an impedance error of 1% was obtained for purely resistive loads and
6% for capacitive loads. Regarding the chemical sample, a similarity was observed in the curves
generated by the devices, showing that the developed system proves to be a low-cost alternative
capable of performing impedance acquisition and analysis.
