Resumo
In this article, we present the results of a qualitative research developed
within the scope of a Course Conclusion Paper, from the Mathematics
Degree, from CESP, whose general objective is to analyze how the
contexts present in the book “O Homem que Calculava” mobilize the
imagination and become make contexts for interdisciplinary
mathematics teaching. This objective stems from the following
question: how to use Malba Tahan's book to mobilize students'
imagination in interdisciplinary practices in mathematics classes?
Therefore, we carried out a bibliographical survey and a focused
interview with teachers from state and municipal schools in the
municipality of Parintins. The results indicate that short stories can be a
good teaching resource for mathematics classes, but they need planning
so that their use is satisfactory.
