Resumo
Understanding how decisions are made at the Irmã Cristine municipal school in the municipality of Parintins - AM was what motivated us to develop our course completion work. A qualitative research, with the application of questionnaires to the teachers and interview to the manager and pedagogical coordinator. Among the theorists who supported our work are: Brito (2013), Dalmás (2003) Libâneo, Oliveira and Toschi (2005), Luck (2009), Maia & Costa (2011), Paro (2010) Veiga (2001). Through this study it was found that the management seeks ways to increase the participation of subjects in the decision-making processes so that it realizes this opening through the meetings organized by the institution, which despite the management developing actions that are in line with democratic management practices, there is still a remnant of bureaucratic administration practices, characterized as authoritarian. The need for planning that is in line with all the agents involved in the development of teaching/learning of students was evidenced, regarding the progress of the democratic issue in the school context, it still needs more incisive measures, that is, more commitment both by its management, as well as by the teaching staff.
