Gymnastics is a bodily practice that involves physical aspects such as flexibility, motor coordination and strength, and can be competitive when characterized as a sport, and non-competitive when it is performed as a physical exercise in favor of health and well- being and of an educational and formative nature, with practices of competitive and recreational actions. In prehistoric societies, Gymnastics had a natural, utilitarian, warlike, ritualistic and recreational character, with a view to the struggle for survival. In contemporary times, different systematizations of gymnastics have emerged in Europe with different proposals and training models. The objective of this study was to report the applicability of an intervention project aimed at demonstrating the contributions of gymnastics in a public school in Manaus. The methodology described describes an experience report on the applicability of a gymnastics intervention project in elementary school, with classes from 2nd to 5th grade in a public school in Manaus. With the applicability of the project, it was possible to achieve the proposed objectives, where the students showed total interest in the practice of the applied activities, interacting and challenging themselves during the classes. Although they had a lot of difficulties in the execution of the movements, they did not pose any difficulty in learning and executing. It is possible to point out how much gymnastics can contribute to the biopsychosocial development of elementary school students, based on content previously listed and organized by teachers. However, they need to be committed to developing the gymnastics contents recommended by the BNCC for elementary school students
