Resumo

The event aims to keep on the dialogue that has already started with the First Conference, through partnerships in the fields of Semiotics, Linguistics, Multimodality and Crtitical Discourse Analysis and its aspects, approaches that have begun to arouse interest in researchers from the State University of Amazonas, specifically the ones in "Curso de Letras", undergraduate and graduate levels. The First Conference was awell-known event at the State University of Amazonas due to participation of national and international researchers. As a result of the event we have had the publication of the annals with all summaries of the papers, as well as the book Análise em Discurso: Semiótica e Multimodalidade, by UEA publisher. This Research Group-SDisCon -Multiple Languages, Smiotics and Discourse concentrates four research lines, such as: 1)Multimodality and Crtitical Discourse Analysis, coordinated by Dr. Neiva Machado Soares; 2) Inter(Semiotics) Literature, Culture and other Arts, under the coordination of Dr.Socorro Viana de Almeida;3) Systemic Functional Linguistics SFL and its theory-based approaches(Critical Discourse Analysis-CDA, Translation Studies, Second Language Acquisition, Multimodality), cordenated by Dr.Vanúbia Araújo Laulete Moncayo. All of them from the State University of Amazonas.4) Text, Speech and Cognition, under the responsibility of Dr. Adelson Florêncio de Barros and Dr. Maristela Barbosa Silveira e Silva.
