Normas de compliance hospitalar e a gestão de riscos na fundação CECON: caminhos para a saúde pública no Amazonas

Abstract

The CECON Foundation is the main oncological hospital in the state of Amazonas. Hospital care for this category of diseases requires highly specialized and costly care. Adverse events in oncological care are not uncommonly fatal and should be avoided as much as possible. To avoid adverse events, several changes can be made in the management of a hospital, but these changes must be guided by a rigorous method capable of identifying all the risks run by the institution. One of these mechanisms for identifying and solving risks through management and that has been gaining some popularity in the last decade is the installation of a compliance program. The present work investigates the legal feasibility and possible advantages of implementing a hospital compliance program in one of the main hospitals in the state of Amazonas and how this possibility interacts with the state control institutions of Amazonas.
