As influências do método Paulo Freire nos trabalhos educativos das classes populares inscritas no movimento de educação de base (MEB) e comunidades eclesiais de base (CEBS) no Município de Parintins (1980)

Abstract

This course completion work titled The influences of the Paulo Freire method on the educational works of the popular classes enrolled in the Movement of Basic Education (MEB) and Basic Ecclesial Communities (CEBs) in the Municipality of Parintins (1980)to respond to some concerns about the History of Education in the Municipality of Parintins. Starting from the mid-1980s, we used two booklets, entitled O Ribeirinho, prepared in the 1980s by the Base Education Movement - MEB and the Ecumenical Center for Documentation and Information - CEDI. We relate the documentary files to the performance of the Base Education Movement (MEB), a movement that was founded by the National Conference of Bishops of Brazil (CNBB). In Parintins, the MEB was implemented by the then Bishop Dom Arcangelo Cerqua, and was present in the Base Ecclesial Communities (CEBs) through professional courses. Our main objective was to find evidence of the Paulo Freire Method in MEB teaching practice - applied in the city of Parintins -, through an interdisciplinary study involving History and Pedagogy and bringing as a methodology the use of Social History to understand social transformations occurred through education.
