Resumo
The objective of this work was to quantify and investigate the solutions adopted by the
Production Planning and Control (PCP) department of a company in the Industrial Pole
of Manaus, based on the Covid-19 pandemic problem. This is a case study whose
demonstration of the pre-pandemic scenario presented constraints to supply the
company's suppliers and problems of the suppliers to acquire the necessary inputs to
supply the requested demand, with the closure of the ports made the process of
transporting the inputs difficult, causing imported an interstate items to accumulate,
requiring a change in the management of local items to free up space in the internal
warehouse to absorb more interstate an imported items. The results of the survey
showed the measures adopted by the PCP in two scenarios: before the pandemic, the
suppliers' MRPs were signaled by cards, containing date, time and quantity of items to
be delivered, keeping the security stock in 15 days. In the current scenario, supplier
MRP is performed on Wednesdays and Thursdays, however, on Kanban cards, only
items that will go into production in the current week for Kanban are being requested.
As a result, there was a reduction in the internal security stock; however, suppliers
have agreed to maintain safety stock at their factories, so that there is no interruption
to the line, as they are local, there may be a request for immediate delivery. Thus, the
results show the average of 207 pallet spaces released.
