Resumo

The Amazonian plant composition can be interpreted not only at a botanical and ecological level, but also at an archaeological level, because when the flora is in association with archaeological contexts, floristic aspects that are uncommon to those usually seen in places with no past human occupation are observed. From this perspective, the present work carried out at the archaeological site Tauary, aims to contribute to interpretations regarding the current and past Amazonian plant landscape, as well as its relationship with past populations. The data analyzed here come from the floristic inventory carried out on the site, which is located in a community of the same name and located in the National Forest of Tefé. 12 plots with dimensions of 25 x 25 m were sampled, the first two being located in a capoeira area, in the plots all individuals with DBH ≥ 10 cm and palm trees and vines with DBH ≥ 5 cm were sampled. To obtain some parameters, basal area, density and dominance of the sampled plots were calculated. To estimate the importance of each plant species, the Coverage Value Index (CVI) was used and to estimate the floristic similarity the Sorensen Quantitative Similarity Index was used. Regression analysis was also carried out to assess the relationship between the distance from the archaeological site and the forest structure, for which the semi-logarithmic mathematical model of Henriksen was adjusted by the Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) method. In addition, the floristic data obtained were correlated with specific bibliography. The present study concluded that the analyzed vegetal landscape has great recent anthropic influence, with diametric distribution out of the behavioral pattern for upland forests, low dominance of plant species with a history of human association and, floristic similarity different from that expected for this type of area .
