Resumo
Evaluate the training process of Nursing course students for practice
in Primary Health Care (PHC) at a public university in Amazonas. Method:
Documentary, descriptive and exploratory study, with a quantitative approach, carried out in
University of the State of Amazonas (UEA), at the Higher School of Science Unit
Health (ESA). The documents selected for the research included the Pedagogical Project
of the Nursing Course (PPC) and the Teaching Plans for the mandatory subjects of the
graduation. Results: 33 specific skills listed in the PPC were listed
regarding the training profile of nursing graduates that were included within
of the 9 Nurse competencies according to the National Primary Care Ordinance (PNAB).
It was possible to identify that, of the 46 mandatory subjects of the course, 16 cover content
specific to PHC. Activities at this level of attention are more concentrated at the end of the
degree during internships, and that 36.5% of the total nursing course workload is
aimed at APS. Conclusion: This study points to the possibility of advances in the process
of Nurse training, proposing the inclusion of students in PHC from the first
periods, include more theoretical and practical themes in the disciplines to solidly support
your preparation to perform with excellence in this essential level of health care
