Gongon ( anhima cornuta ): um estudo a cerca das influências antrópicas e as causas da redução da ave na comunidade de Parintins/AM

Abstract

The central discussion of this research is the analysis of the reduction in the population of the bird popularly known as Gongon (Anhima cornuta), commonly seen in the community of Divino Espírito Santo, located in Paraná do Espírito Santo do Meio, in the municipality of Parintins - AM. This study has the general objective of understanding the ecological impacts that consist of the reduction in the population of the bird in the riverside community. The research has a qualitative and quantitative nature. A field survey was carried out in the community of Paraná do Espírito Santo do Meio, with 7 local community members as informants. To develop this research, instruments were used to collect data, from observation, bibliographic material and interviews with a semi-structured question script. The results demonstrate a decrease in the population of the bird in the last 20 years, indicating the need to protect the species.
