Resumo

Myofascial Pain Syndrome affects a large part of the population and is characterized by the presence of trigger points that radiate pain to other areas of the body and is usually caused by repetitive movements, temporomandibular disorders or trauma. It has a complex diagnosis, since the patient's complaint is nonspecific and generalized, for this reason the professional examiner needs to perform a good anamnesis and a good clinical examination besides having knowledge about the syndrome for the diagnosis to be accurate. Possible treatments include the application of botulinum toxin, application of local anesthetic, laser use, myorelaxant plaques and physical therapy exercises. This work aims to show myofascial Pain Syndrome associated with post-surgical trauma of a cerebral glioma in a 21-year-old female patient who presented at the Dental Polyclinic of the University of the State of Amazonas (UEA) complaining of pain all over the face in a generalized way, accompanied by severe headaches. The proposed treatment was the use of myorelaxant plaque concomitant to physiotherapy exercises with the proper followup of the clinical condition
