Resumo
This paper aims to develop a strategy based on Wake-Up Radio technology for
event-driven communication in a Class A LoRaWAN network. For this, radio wake-up
circuits were developed, as well as embedded software algorithms for microcontrolled
platforms, with the objective of reducing the energy consumption of an end-node of a Class
A LoRaWAN network. Initially, a survey was conducted on microcontrolled platforms
that could be used for the development of a LoRaWAN class A network. Next, surveys
of techno-scientific materials related to Wake-Up Radio in LoRaWAN networks were
performed. This required research on low-power radios, to be used as secondary radios for
the devices belonging to the network. Finally, communications between the devices were
established so that the project could be validated and the device consumption measured.
