Resumo
The article addresses the impact of handicrafts within the context of the creative
economy in Amazonas, focusing on their commercialization and the challenges faced
by artisans in this region. The nature of the problem involves understanding the role of
handicrafts as both an economic and cultural activity, as well as identifying the key
obstacles and opportunities for the sector. The research highlights how handicrafts,
often seen as a cultural expression, also serve as an important source of income for
many families, especially in a context marked by high levels of informality and a lack
of public policies. The methodology used was a bibliographic study, based on
secondary sources such as scientific articles, books, and data from institutions
responsible for sector-related statistics, as well as a qualitative analysis of the available
data. The theoretical approach focused on creative economy and sustainability, with
the aim of analyzing handicrafts as a driver of economic development in Amazonas.
The results revealed that handicrafts contribute significantly to the local economy,
being especially important for informal workers. The introduction of online sales
channels and participation in local fairs helped expand the market. Handicrafts in
Amazonas hold significant economic and cultural relevance but face challenges such
as informality, the lack of public policies, and competition with industrialized products.
The creative economy emerges as an opportunity for enhancement, with state support
being essential for fostering more effective public policies.
