Resumo
The present research approaches the construction of geometric knowledge from the perspective of ethnomathematics: application in agriculture. It was developed in the non-face-to-face modality due to the pandemic context caused by the Covid-19 virus. It aims to present ethnomathematics as a proposal for teaching and learning geometry in the context of agriculture for the 7th grade of Elementary School. Given the various gaps found in mathematics teaching, one of them is the lack of contextualization of concepts. In this way, in a qualitative-quantitative methodological approach, we sought to answer the problem: how can Ethnomathematics provide conceptions of learning considering empirical and popular knowledge, in order to show students the teaching of mathematics applied to agriculture? Video classes and Google Forms were developed with diagnostic questionnaires and evaluative activities on the content of plane geometry in agriculture. The application took place in the WhatsApp group in which the welcoming teacher, the researcher and 15 students from the 7th year of Elementary School were in a given School in the North Zone of the city of Manaus. The research presented positive results with the interest that the students had in the proposal and with the good performance they obtained in the development of the project activities.
