Educação ambiental: a importância da reciclagem e reutilizão dos residuos sólidos na escola municipal Charles Garcia na cidade de Parintins-AM

Abstract

Environmental Education is a field of study and practice that aims to develop understanding of environmental and social issues, promoting changes in attitudes and behaviors. In view of this, this research emerged through the application of an extension project with the objective of raising awareness among elementary school students to understand Environmental Education, and encouraging them to recycle and reuse solid waste produced in the school environment. In addition, it aimed to understand the interests of students in supporting the objectives and proposals of Environmental Education, and to analyze what Environmental Education can contribute to the lives of these students, and finally to verify whether the school selected for this research develops sustainable practices. In order to achieve the objectives of this research, the qualitative method was used, with the use of questionnaires to collect information. Regarding the results obtained, it was evident that the students understood the objectives and proposals of Environmental Education, and through the practical activity carried out, the enthusiasm of these students in supporting Environmental Education was shown to be efficient. I emphasize the relevance of Environmental Education in the school context, especially in public education networks, to achieve a more just society that is committed to environmental issues.
