Resumo

This work aims to show how the children's literature can contribute to the discussion and critical reflection through the themes present in his works, contributing to the intellectual development of the child, thus problematizing the contribution of school and pedagogical work with such narratives in a class of the 6th year of elementary school of the Municipal School Tsukasa Uyetsuka, located in the Santa Maria-Vila Amazônia Community, Estrada. 69151-000, Parintins-AM, increasing its importance in this process of intellectual and readery formation of a subject. The work was justified by the curiosity to understand how children are receptive to these works and their themes that are often considered polemic, and how they can contribute to the intellectual and social formation of a subject, and through these, know how their approach is carried out within the classroom space. Therefore, this monograph will show the contribution that literary reading has in the development of a subject, and its importance in presenting and discussing certain themes through the literary text with children or adolescents, so that they are given the opportunity to grow with the understanding of the world in which they live, besides achieving their own reflection on their feelings before their experiences. Thus, to compart this research were addressed the studies of Regina Zilberman, Nelly Novaes Coelho, Rildo Cosson, and among others.
