Resumo

The urban area of the city of Manaus grew without adequate planning, accompanied by deforestation and irregular occupation, with places without basic infrastructure (sanitation, road system, energy, etc.). On the other hand, the use of orbital data remotely, in high resolution, for the detection and monitoring of the Earth requires a high cost in the analysis, making this resource limited. The objective of the research was to analyze the potential of Planet images for monitoring urban areas in ManausAM, in a period of 5 years (June/2016 to May/2021). The base map was prepared using the Qgis 3.16 software with IBGE vector bases. A PlanetScope catalog query was carried out to verify the satellite images available on the platform. The images were selected in different cloud filters, which were later tabulated for analysis and discussion, carrying out the same process in three areas for study, being the urban area of Manaus, the perimeter of the fire that occurred in the Educandos neighborhood and in the area of irregular occupation Mount Horeb. We analyzed the climatic parameters that underwent changes, and thus show the importance of relating the intensity of rainfall frequency with the amount of available images. As a result, not applying the filter of 100% coverage of the area and 0% of clouds, 2,371 images were found for the urban area of Manaus, characterizing a successful study, given that during this period it was expected to obtain only 1,825 ( 365 days/year), due to the fact that it is a daily revisit satellite. The same can be said for the analyzes carried out for the Educandos neighborhood with 1,574 images, and for the Lago Azul neighborhood with 1,629. However, with the climatic variation in Manaus, mainly in relation to precipitation in the urban area of Manaus, which contrasts directly with the amount of images available on the Planet Explorer platform with a 0% cloud filter in urban areas, in the Educandos and Lago Azul neighborhoods , there are only 37, 240 and 205 images available in the respective areas, reducing the possibilities of study. The study related the climatic parameters with the available images, so the months that are best to work with Planet in the urban area of Manaus are in the months of July and August, when there is the lowest incidence of rain and, consequently, the lowest cloud coverage.
