to identify complications that may occur and that are related to surgical positioning. Method: This was an Integrative Literature Review (ILR) that was prepared from six distinct stages, being the identification of the theme and elaboration of the guiding question through the PICo strategy, literature search in the main databases, definition of the information to be extracted from the selected studies, evaluation of the studies included in the review, interpretation of the results and presentation of the integrative review. Results: A total of 17 scientific articles published between 2017 and 2022 were included, of which 5 (29.4%) were publications from Medline/PubMed, 1 (5.9%) from the SOBECC journal, 8 (47.1%) are within both databases, both BDENF – Nursing and LILACS, 1 (5.9%) is only within LILACS and 2 (11.8%) only within BDENF – Nursing. Of these, 4 (23.5%) scientific articles were published in English and Portuguese, 8 (47.1%) in Portuguese, 4 (23.5%) in English and 1 (5.9%) in the three languages, Portuguese, English and Spanish. Regarding the countries of publication, 13 (76.5%) were published in Brazil, 2 (11.8%) in Sweden, 1 (5.9%) in China and 1 (5.9%) in Turkey. Conclusion: It is possible to observe that PIs predominate among studies on surgical positioning. Therefore, there was a lack of identification of other complications related to the subject, in addition to the scarcity of studies that address the importance of nurses within the SC. Therefore, it is expected that this work can increase interest in the subject and thus generate the production and publication of future articles that contemplate the contextualization of the subject addressed and the other complications, contributing to the prevention and reduction of risks, bringing greater visibility to the subject and contributing to the safety of the surgical patient.
