Estudo biogeográfico de Scoloplax dicra Bailey & Baskin, 1976 (Siluriformes: Scoloplacidae)

Abstract

Amazon basin has a great biodiversity, and hosts a great richness of ichthyofauna species, but there is still a lack of information on phylogenetic relationships within and among the many fish groups in these areas. Barcode DNA analysis was used to investigate divergences between populations of Scoloplax dicra from the Amazon basin. Biogeographic processes such as the uplift of the Andes and changes in the course of the rivers of the basin were used to try to explain such divergences found.
