Linha d'água de L. Ruas: proposta de edição crítica

Abstract

L. Ruas, besides being a poet, was a prolific chronicler, having published, during the 50s and 60s, in several newspapers in Manauaras. Some of them were collected in the book Linha D'Água, in 1970. In the present work, we propose a critical edition of this work, considering that it was published only once. Thus, we intend to unearth and value the chronicles of Ruas, which have great historical, literary and cultural relevance, since, besides the aesthetic quality, are the portrait of a Manaus that sought to modernize culturally. We also propose that six chronicles of the author, published in the Literary Supplement that the Club da Madrugada kept in the newspaper O Jornal, are added to the critical edition of the work. We believe, thus, to bring a new perspective on the chronicler L. Ruas, making an effort to avoid that his prose is forgotten in the ephemeral journalistic pages.
