Resumo
To assess the prevalence of ARI in patients who were victims of snakebites treated at a referral hospital in Amazonas. Method: This is an epidemiological, retrospective, descriptive study linked to the doctoral research entitled “EVALUATION OF THE USE OF LOW-INTENSITY LASER ON LOCAL CHANGES IN PATIENTS BITED BY SNAKES OF THE GENUS BOTHROPS IN THE BRAZILIAN AMAZON: A CONTROLLED AND RANDOMIZED CLINICAL TRIAL”, carried out using the database of the larger study, where sociodemographic and clinical data were collected from 60 patients, organized in a Microsoft Excel 2016 spreadsheet and analyzed according to the values of the Acute Kidney Injury Network (AKIN). Results: It was observed that 18% of the patients presented with AKI upon admission, of which 81% were classified as stage 1, 9% stage 2 and 9% stage 3, according to the AKIN values, with a hospital stay, in the majority, greater than 15 days, with no deaths; in addition, 82% of the patients were male, with the majority being over 40 years old, 55% came from rural areas and 82% classified as having a moderate accident at the time of admission. Conclusion: This research showed the importance of monitoring laboratory tests, especially creatinine in cases of Bothrops accident, since AKI is a delicate systemic reaction and one of the possible consequences of poisoning, presenting a considerable number of patients who presented this complication.
