O protótipo feminino em inocência, de Visconde de Taunay

Abstract

The present article reflects on the image of women in the 19th century through the main character of the novel Innocence, published in 1872, by Visconde de Taunay, taking into account the historical and social paradigms imposed for the ideal woman model and the feminine symbols. Therefore, it is understood that the "romantic dramas", resulting in the death of one of the lovers, happen from the moment in which the the moment in which the protagonist, even unhappy with the principles of the time, shows herself to be the object of the patriarchal society.
