Abstract

This study aims to investigate the contribution of Ruy Alcântara de Albuquerque School to the social and educational development of the community of Urucurituba. The research is based on the understanding that public schools play an essential role, not only as places where academic content is taught, but also as spaces for social interaction, value formation, socialization, and the strengthening of cultural and community practices. This is a qualitative study conducted through interviews, observation, and document analysis as the main data collection methods. The research investigates the pedagogical practices, the projects developed by the school, community participation, and the impacts generated on the social life of local residents. It seeks to understand how the school contributes to students' education, strengthens their sense of belonging, promotes citizenship, and improves the community's socio-educational conditions. Furthermore, the study aims to identify the challenges faced by the institution and to propose reflections that may contribute to the improvement of educational policies.
