Resumo
In this article, an attempt was made to make a comparative analysis of the semantic-lexical
variations present in the way of speaking in the municipalities of Tefé (AM) and Pauini (AM),
aiming to increase the knowledge of the semantic-lexical variations used in the interior of the
Amazon, more specifically in Tefé, Middle Solimões region, and Pauini, Alto Purus region. The research is based on the assumptions of Sociolinguistics and the theoretical conceptions of
authors such as Labov (1974, 2008), Dubois (2006), Biderman (1996) and Mollica and Braga
(2013). Linguistic data were collected in Tefé (Am) with university students from Tefé and
Pauini, who study at the Centro de Estudos Superiores de Tefé (CEST/UEA). In this phase of
the study, a Semantic-Lexical Questionnaire (QSS) was applied with 41 questions, which were
taken from the QSS by Cruz-Cardoso (2004), but contemplating only part of the semantic field
of Half Anthropic. There were 04 university informants, one man and one woman from Tefé
and one man and one woman from Pauini. Based on the results, the richness of the lexicon
present in the speech of the people of Tefé and Pauini was verified, which demonstrates the
importance of recording the variations that occur in the speech of a given speech community
and the theoretical-methodological value of understanding of linguistic phenomena and their
relationship with the social context.
