Ruralidades no urbano-metropolitano: resistências e permanências do rural nas cidades de Iranduba e Silves/AM

Abstract

Geography seeks to understand the geographical space from the relationship between man and environment, and with the growing urbanization, which reaches previously predominantly rural spaces, there is an increasing number of people living in cities. Thus, it is necessary to understand the processes of transformation and appropriation of space that is currently being watched. However, this study aims to analyze the configuration of the space, highlighting the ruralities in the urban areas of Iranduba and Silves, both members of the metropolitan region of Manaus. Through the Historical-Critical-dialectical method, we sought to identify the objects that represent the permanence of the rural in the urban space of these municipalities, pointing out the practices and customs characteristic of rural life that are perpetuated in the daily lives of residents, as well as understand how The process of metropolization influences, or not, the permanence of the rural within the metropolitan urban space. Despite the arrival and spread of urban symbols and ideas in rural areas, common practices and customs such as the cultivation of vegetables and the raising of small animals continue to be part of everyday life. and the life of part of the population, presenting itself as forms of resistance to the urban or even as permanences of the geosymbols of the rural.
