Resumo
This article is the result of an experience report about a set of activities developed by a teacher and her four and five years old children, from the 1st Period of Early Childhood Education, at a Municipal Center for Early Childhood Education (CMEI), located in the Eastern Zone of the Manaus city. The activities developed had the objective of significantly expanding the oral language of the children ninthe reference group, through the play of a make-believe game inserted in the children’s daily routine of activities. As results, we highlight a greater interaction of the children among themselves, having the oral language as mediator of this process when representing their roles in the games; the expansion of children’s vocabulary, which has been enriched by playing; and the guarantee of spaces, times and resources soth at the make-believe game could happen daily, which directly impacted the exercise and the quality of the dialogues carried out by the children.
