Papel da enfermagem na prevenção do desmame precoce: revisão integrativa

Abstract

To map the scientific production of information needed to define the role of nursing in preventing early weaning. Methods: This is an integrative literature review with a qualitative approach in 6 stages. Results: After conducting the searches according to the defined strategies, 9,572 publications were found, of which 7,500 were excluded because their full-text version was not available online. Using the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 18 articles were used. Discussion: The greatest effectiveness and consolidation of prenatal knowledge provided by nursing professionals is understood through care activities combined with educational activities that contribute to greater adherence of women to breastfeeding, preventing other foods from being used before the first six months of life. Conclusion: Nurses, obstetric nurses and midwives play a fundamental role in the process of health education for pregnant couples and continue to provide these guidelines in the postpartum period and throughout the remaining years of the child's life.
