Resumo
Analyze the managerial skills developed by nurses graduating from a university in the north of the country and specific objectives: describe the sociodemographic profile of nurses graduating from the Undergraduate Nursing course; identify the content of the managerial functions experienced in academic training, verify the managerial functions developed by graduates in their work process and reveal the challenges faced in management practice by these nurses. Methodology: this is research with a quantitative, descriptive approach. Results: from the data collected, the training process and the need to train competent and qualified nurses to work on all fronts of the health service, with emphasis on nursing management, where 26.8% are involved in service management, were observed. , motivating them to act as managers mainly to acquire experience and for this performance, 25.5% completed some specialization in management. Of the graduates inserted into the role of managers, 65.5% agreed that the skills necessary for the manager, such as leadership, teamwork, communication, among others, were developed during the undergraduate training process, where 34% evaluated their performance within its field of activity as good or excellent. Conclusion: the research highlights the importance of developing management skills for nurses. Improving these skills can be achieved through more in-depth discussions about administration and management within the academic environment. It was also possible to observe the trajectory of graduates since graduation, evaluating how the skills acquired throughout the course impact their performance within the job market. It also allows us to visualize the adequacy of the course's curricular structure in relation to national curricular guidelines that aim to train generalist, critical and reflective nurses, with technical-scientific, ethical-political and socio-educational skills
