A Comemoração do Aniversário em Elegias Amorosas: Os Casos De Sulpícia, Propércio e Ovídio

Abstract

This research aims to investigate how the anniversary was seen and what it symbolized in Antiquity, thus making a historical approach. This date usually appears in elegies, and especially in Sulpicia’s elegies. Although little studied, his writings have reached the present day. In this way, we will use the bibliographic method, in order to carry out a study in books, articles, theses and dissertations, to analyze the birthday reports present in the author’s elegies. In addition to it, poems by Propertius and Ovid will be addressed, since both report birthdays in their elegies. Being the most in-depth research in the elegy of the first cited author
