Tambor de crioula: uma análise linguística e histórica nas letras das toadas

Abstract

The tambor de Crioula is a form of entertainment or payment of promises that brings together the beat of a drum, the dance of umbigada or punga, poetry, history and resistance. The present work starts from the restlessness to present the Tambor de Crioula Punga Baré and to analyze its toadas to extract linguistic and historical marks that explain and prove the existence of this Afro-Brazilian movement in Manaus. Then, we resort to the History of slavery in Brazil with the work of Tereza Telles and Mariana Melo (2013), and the History of the black in the Amazon region through the research organized by Patrícia Sampaio (2011). And, to explain the dynamics of this cultural movement, we use the contributions of the anthropologist Sergio Ferreti (2002) and the researcher Cassia Rejane (2009).
