Resumo
This article presents the results of research developed within the scope of a Completion Work for a Degree in Mathematics, at the Universidad do Estado do Amazonas (UEA), in the city of Parintins-AM, with the objective of analyzing in what terms the art becomes a context for teaching symmetry in the final years of Elementary School. It is a qualitative research that for the construction of data using document analysis, bibliographic survey, direct observation and photographic record. The constructed data were analyzed through a triangulation. The results obtained indicate that in the various artistic expressions symmetry present teaching-as a context for teaching symmetry, in the final years of elementary school.
