Resumo

Cartography is part of the Geography curriculum in all grades of basic education. education, enabling students to establish closer connections between the phenomena phenomena occurring in geographical space and the spaces in which they live. However it is clear from what has been observed in the classroom that it is difficult for students and teachers to teachers in understanding basic subjects related to cartographic literacy, including literacy and this includes the content of geographical coordinates. Faced with this scenario, active methodologies have become pedagogical alternatives in the teaching and learning process. teaching and learning process, where specific strategies, approaches and techniques techniques, students are encouraged to take part in the lesson based on their curiosity about discovery, investigation or problem-solving. In this way, this work objective was to analyze how active methodologies can constitute these possible pedagogical alternatives for more meaningful learning. Thus through a case study, it was proposed to use a specific active methodology by using the classroom as a terrestrial planisphere, to administer the theme of geographic coordinates, which was applied to 6th and 7th grade classes at an classes in a school in the Manaus-Am municipal education network. This This work is organized around the following methodological stages skills and competences relevant to the teaching of cartography proposed by the a review of the literature on cartography in schools; the use of active schools; the use of active methodologies in Geography teaching and finally a survey of scientific results to explore the ways in which the use of active methods can be linked to the teaching of cartography.
