Resumo

Over time, ways to make education more attractive have been sought for young people, in view of the high number of young people aged between 15 and 18 years old who drop out of school. Thinking about it, the search for strategies and teaching methodologies that make the educational process more interesting to and that captivate them to stay in school intensifies. taking in consideration that insects, by many students and teachers, are seen as repulsive and disgusting individuals, which generates a decrease in the level of their interest in this topic. This research aims to understand the relevance of using entomological boxes and taxonomic classification as practical activities for the Teaching of Zoology, through participatory research held at the State School Ondina de Paula Ribeiro. Using the methodology of Didactic Sequence, seven classes were given to a 3rd grade class of the High School, mixing theoretical and practical classes and field trips. After analyzing the results of the questionnaires and the fixation activity, also relying on the observations recorded during the process, it became noticeable that the practice educational presents a differential when worked in the classroom. it is perceived that the Insecta Class is often approached in a vague way during teaching basic, or in some cases not even mentioned. the knowledge to respect for insects is gained only by common sense and that this kind of activity allows the intense participation of students in the process of learning and assists in the demystification process of the Insecta Class.
