Resumo

Music is an important didactic resource for teaching history in schools, we can listen to protest songs from a certain period and realize that they are full of criticism of the context in which they were written. Thus, this article proposes the use of raps in the classroom, emphasizing Emicida's documentary made from the last released album "AmarElo". To develop this work, we chose four central songs to analyze and promote debates, specifically on Afro-Brazilian history and culture, based on laws 10.639/03 and 11.645/08 that make the teaching of African and Indigenous History and Culture mandatory in the curriculum school. In addition, the lyrics of the songs are full of meanings and address important social themes for the production of knowledge. We used authors such as Righi (2011), Pimentel (1997) and Costa (2013). We intend to expand the history teaching resources in the classroom, using the expressions of characters who tell the difficulties of living in peripheries, living with inequalities such as racial, social, gender, and through raps, debates can be promoted among students.
