This short paper presents a reflection on the inclusion of students with special needs in
elementary school, with the aim of analyzing the inclusion policy and its effects on the
socialization and learning processes of students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD),
systematically observing the interest and behavior of students who have learning difficulties as
a result of their special educational needs in the daily life of the classroom. The research focused
on studies of theoretical references and a case study in a regular education school unit, i.e.
EMEF Padre Sebastião Luiz dos Santos Puga Barbosa, which provided an analysis between
theory and practice in everyday school life, in a classroom, i.e. in a psychomotricity room where
the teacher attends to diversity, both in relation to learning difficulties, as well as behavioral
diversity, In this way, it was analyzed that the school is fulfilling its role with strategies that
allow the integration of students in a more autonomous way, but there are still changes needed
for the emancipation of students with special needs, mainly with the participation of the family,
aiming at a quality school for all, as well as the presence of the classroom teacher in practical
school physical education classes
