Mortalidade de mulheres em idade fértil : análise em um estado do norte do Brasil no período de 2014 a 2023.

Abstract

The mortality of women of reproductive age reflects social inequalities and limited access to healthcare, especially in Amazonas. Objective: To analyze the epidemiological profile of mortality among women of reproductive age in the state of Amazonas from 2014 to 2023. Methods: Quantitative, ecological, time-series study using data from the Mortality Information System (SIM/DATASUS). Results: A total of 13,952 deaths were recorded, mainly among women aged 40–49 years (42.02%), brown-skinned (73.81%), and with 8–11 years of education (42.18%). The main causes of death were neoplasms, external causes, and infectious and parasitic diseases. Conclusion: The findings reveal racial and geographic inequalities and highlight the need for prevention, early screening, and strengthening comprehensive women’s healthcare.
