Análise tecno-estilística do material cerâmico précolonial proveniente do Sítio AM-IT-30 Pedra Chata (Itacoatiara - AM)

Abstract

On this article, we present a techno-stylistic analysis of archeological cerâmic obtained on the Baixo Urubu Project grounds, on the N 1000 E 964 unit of the AMIT- 30 Pedra Chata site (Itacoatiara County, AM). The Pedra Chata site has, until this moment, the oldest archeologically confirmed indigenous potter groups context associated with the lower Urubu River region (Approx. 200-50 BC). Furthermore, the lower Urubu River region exhibits a possible cultural sequence without hiatuses until the beginning of the colonial period. The study of the techno-stylistic variability with wide diachronic perspective will provide us with the necessary data to discuss the ceramics contextualization inside the region’s proposed stage cultural categories and traditions. It may also add to its characterization refinement at local levels.
