Penfigoide bolhoso em mucosa oral: relato de caso

Abstract

Bullous pemphigoid is an autoimmune disease characterized by the formation of subepidermal blisters with a polymorphic profile. Diagnosis is based on the clinical picture, complemented by histopathological examinations and direct and indirect immunofluorescence. The aim of this study is to present a clinical case of the disease diagnosed in a female patient who came to the UEA Dental Polyclinic complaining of pain, bleeding and inflammation in the oral cavity. In the anamnesis, the patient also reported that she had supragingival scraping to treat the lesions. On intraoral clinical examination, erythematous centers with painful symptoms and desquamation of the marginal gingiva were found. The Nikolsky test was performed with a positive result. After evaluating the tests requested, an incisional biopsy was carried out on the left upper pre-molars for histopathological analysis. After the histopathology report was released, Triamcinolone Acetonide (topical corticosteroid) was prescribed and the patient was referred to a rheumatologist to continue treatment. In view of the above, the clinical and histopathological assessment, as well as the complementary exams, were essential for establishing the diagnosis of Bullous Pemphigoid.
