Proposta de intervenção viária para o trânsito do cruzamento da rua Barreirinha com a rua Beira Rio em Parintins-AM

Abstract

The urban road system is an essential factor for the socio-economic development of cities, as it is through it that the population's needs are met. However, the aspects that make up these systems present problems that are relevant to society as a whole. The city of Parintins faces several problems associated with deficiencies in road infrastructure and traffic signs, and amidst this scenario, this article sought to identify the factors that negatively influence traffic at the intersection of Barreirinha and Beira Rio streets in the Paulo Corrêa neighborhood in Parintins, as these are important roads for the local population. Based on quantitative and qualitative methods of bibliographical research, data collection and on-site studies, it was possible to see that the essential elements of signaling are insufficient and the infrastructure of the geometric design of the roads is inadequate in its dimensions and formats, where this series of factors results in insecurity for the constant flow of vehicles and contributes to the occurrence of accidents in the area. In view of the problems analyzed, a new road project was proposed, which consists of the application of strategic structural elements that result in the application of a traffic circle, as well as associated horizontal and vertical signs, where these measures are shown to be a possible viable solution. When considering the other aspects of the road design of the intersection studied as a negative influence on traffic, this highlights the need to maintain the essential characteristics of the road system, where it is also important to adopt measures to provide appropriate behavior on the part of users who travel through this intersection.
