Resumo

Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) is characterized as a malignant soft tissue tumor prevalent in pediatrics, being uncommon among adults, corresponding to less than 4% of sarcomas. The head and neck region is the most affected, accounting for 40% of cases. The treatment of RMSs is complex, as it is determined by the combination of factors related to the clinical staging of the tumor, its location, the patient's age and the involvement of adjacent structures. In this context, the rehabilitation of patients who underwent a surgical approach to remove tumors in the head and neck region becomes essential for the functional, aesthetic and anatomical restoration of the compromised structures. In this case report, rehabilitation occurred through the creation of a palatal obturator prosthesis, after surgical excision of embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma in the maxilla, with oro-sinus involvement. The rehabilitative process was based on a treatment plan that encompasses other dentistry specialties, which, together, aim to direct treatment in an integrative and humanized way, to, in fact, restore the health and quality of mutilated patients.
