Resumo

Firefighting Group (1°GBM) of the Amazonas Military Fire Department (CBMAM). The justification lies in the observation that the current Military Physical Training program prioritizes aerobic activities, without adequately addressing the strength and endurance demands necessary for the safe and efficient execution of operational missions. The research adopts both qualitative and quantitative approaches, including a literature review and the application of semi-structured questionnaires to the ABT-37 firefighters and to specialists working in the areas of Military Physical Training and Physiotherapy within CBMAM. The sample consists of 15 firefighters, representing 100% of the vehicle’s crew, and eight specialists, allowing for a direct assessment of the group’s reality. The expected results indicate that the inclusion of a systematic muscular strengthening program can significantly reduce the incidence of muscle injuries, while enhancing operational efficiency, especially in activities that require intense physical effort such as rescues, victim transport, and the handling of heavy equipment. The analysis also highlights the feasibility of integrating strengthening routines into the firefighters’ daily schedule without compromising the duration of the existing training program. It is concluded that the adoption of a specific chapter on muscular strengthening in the Military Physical Training Manual represents a strategic measure to improve physical preparedness, prevent injuryrelated absences, and strengthen the corporation’s response capacity to diverse operational demands.
